Spanish Baby Boy Names - Find Great Possibilities For Your Son's Baby Name List!

Are you curious about Spanish baby boy names? You're in luck, because we've got all the information you need! Your son's Spanish name will be one he can be proud of for the rest of his life. Did you know the Spanish method of naming children makes certain their families are represented? Spanish names require two surnames instead of the traditional one. One surname comes from the father's family while the other is pulled from the mother's side. The father's name can come first, or the mother's name. But once the family decides which name will come first, and they use that surname title for their first child, the law requires that all their children have the same ordered surname. Therefore, what is often considered a middle name is not really a middle name at all - it is another surname. The concept of middle names does not apply when choosing Spanish baby boy names. First names are always chosen by the parents, but sometimes the priest at the child's baptism will bestow a second given name on the child. This is often done to reflect upon certain saints.

This second name, however, does not have a legal basis - it is given by the Church and kept within the family as a tradition, but doesn't appear on any legal documents. The only caveat in the law concerning Spanish names is that a child cannot have a name that is an embarrassment. Unless the given name is something that means a derogatory word, or has some other connotation that might make the child uncomfortable, anything goes! Spanish baby boy names often roll from the tongue with a beautiful, melodic sound. They always have meanings behind them as well. If your child is named after one of the patron saints, then the meaning is obvious. For other popular names, the meanings aren't so clear cut. Amistad is a popular name, meaning "friendship". Another common name is Consuelo, meaning "consolation". Calling your little boy Cordero means "little lamb", but calling him Cortez means "conqueror". Galeno means "little bright one". The name Miguel is highly popular, and is a derivative of Michael, meaning "to know God". Some names reflect the religious heritage of the child. The name Oleos means "holy oil used in church", while the name Santos means "of the saints". Calling a child Salvador is the same as calling him "savior". Manuel means "God is with us". Other beliefs are reflected in Spanish baby boy names as well. Calling a child Senon means "given life by Zeus", and there are more pagan names in the Spanish heritage, such as Jacinto, meaning "hyacinth". Colon means "dove" and Castel means "belonging to the castle". The Spanish baby boy names are always interesting and melodic. They also have a rich heritage in that they use the surnames of both the mother and the father. If you give your child one of the Spanish baby boy names, you will have the confidence in knowing that name is one that your son will be proud to live with for the rest of his days! Choosing Baby Boy Names

With the advent of more detailed ultrasounds, it is now possible to know by 19 weeks of pregnancy whether you should be choosing baby boy names or baby girl names. This narrows the options for many parents who would otherwise be too overwhelmed by the choices and who can't decide on certain baby names that they both like. In this article, we will be focusing on baby boy names. One of the main considerations when choosing baby boy names is that both parents like the names on the list. This can take a while to narrow down, trust me! So you might just need the whole nine months in order to get your list of mutually acceptable baby boy names written up!The best way to do this is for each of you to study and select the baby boy names that you like. You can find them in a name book or online. There are dozens of baby name websites online that provide not only meanings and pronunciations, but also alternative spellings and country of origin. Sometimes it can be fun to choose baby boy names that come from your ancestry!Once you both have your list of preferred baby boy names, it is time to compare them. Start by compiling a third list of names that both of you find acceptable. If you happen to have two or more names that you both really like, all the better! Your decision will be that much easier to make.

However, if you still aren't in agreement, you might have to spend more time looking for good baby boy names from other sources until you come up with a couple more options.Another consideration when choosing baby boy names is to select something that is distinctly male. Certain names that were originally male have crossed the line and are now bi-sexual, meaning that they can be used as either baby girl or boy names. Think Ashley, Court, and Dana. Each of these names was originally for a boy, but now they serve for either. If you don't want your son to be teased, it is recommended that you aim for more specifically male names! Baby Boy Names

A baby brings joy and happiness. It also carries forward a bit of you. Perhaps the most important function a parent undertakes after the birth of a boy is to select a name for him. Most parents would like the name to be special, and mean something to their son when he grows up. A son for many holds a special place. Since ancient times a son is seen to be the “one to carry on the family.” Naming a son can be quite emotional and often family traditions come into play—in many families sons carry into the next generation the family name, which may be centuries old. Be practical and take up the task like modern-day parents. Buy a beautiful inspiring notebook and write down your thoughts. Would I like my son to carry forward a tradition or heritage? Would I like him to be proud of his roots? Or shall we strike out and name him something different? Weigh the pros and cons of all these options. Call over the family or clan for an impromptu get-together and make the “name choosing” a collective effort. Glance into family legends and history. Study the family tree and how different generations were named. Find out if anyone in the family was famous or illustrious, like a poet, a painter, or writer. Is there an explorer or adventurer hidden among your ancestors? Discover a pioneer who may have sailed the ocean to bring his family to a new land. Make a list of such possibilities.

Consider carefully if you would like your son to be named after a person who has meant something to you, helped you, or done something special. Look through social security lists, literature, the World Wide Web, and books for inspiration. In case you belong to an ethnic group or culture or specific religion, and have a religious frame of mind, then look for a name in the scriptures or books that are specific to your origins and culture. Many like naming their children after great men from history, or heroes of legend and lore. Or on attributes such as strength, intelligence, beauty, and so on. If you would like to think about this then spare the time to go to a library and do intensive research. Once you have made a tentative list of names both of you like, you must say it out loud, whisper it softly, sing a song, and write it out. How does it co-ordinate with your last name? Check whether the initials do not sum up to be something embarrassing, like ASS. Can the name become the source of peer teasing? Will the child and his friend be able to spell or pronounce it? And is the name such that it will grow with the child? Imagine a grown woman called Pixie or a hulk of a man called Jellybeans. Ensure that the baby’s name is strong, bold, and happy. It should reflect the qualities and traits of the boy and bring joy all around him. Choose a name that has strong gender identification. Pick a name that will stand him in good stead, and one he will be proud to be known by. By Peter Emerson
